in response to managment's "survey"

First of all, I would like to say that this is the first time I have ever written on here (in response to management's claim that only 5 people write these reviews). I have heard of this site from many friends and have read the reviews on multiple occasions...after all its comforting to know that other people are experiencing the same things. Secondly, the manager stated: "In January, we had an independent survey company do a survery of Southgate residents. According to those survey results, 61% of our residents indicated that they plan to renew. We will be happy to furnish those results to anyone who would like a more accurate appraisal of the property." And, seeing as how I've been living here for quite some time, I would like to know how I along with no one I know who lives there respond to this survey that was taken, if in fact it was. Also, how more of an accurate appraisal of the property can you get than from the mouths of the residents' All you have is a survey from a minority of residents that say they will be resigning their lease. Out of all the people I know, including myself, that live there only 1 person is planning to renew and its because he feels stuck since he only has one semester of school left and doesn't want to have to deal with the move during his last semester. He even says that he never would have resigned his lease if he felt like he really had a choice. Not to mention, he never had anyone contact him about a survey either. Plus, how many people were actually surveyed, and how many people live at the complex' NOT apartments, but people' Are we talking 61% of 300 or of 30' Also, the fact that someone is renewing a lease anywhere in BR at this time is not an accurate appraisal of a property. Everyone knows that apartments are slim and hard to find in BR since the Hurricane, as well as VERY expensive! So, for someone to decide to renew their lease may not be because they actually like living there, but because you cut them a deal to get them to stay (discount for renewing) & the search for a new apartment is futile and frustrating in this time after the hurricane! If they are staying God knows its not because they love living at Southgate, its because they feel stuck!
