Well, first of all i am very offended by what someone said in an earlier review about the college students living here being brats because their parents pay for them. There actually are students living here that get their apartment payed for by their parents and are apreciative of it. Now on another note, Southgate Towers are very nice apartments. I have lived here at Southgate since May of 2005. Everyone needs to understand that they are new and high tech, therefore there are many things that need to be done. If you don't like it, move out. I haven't had a problem with the construction and my window faces the front parking lot where they are doing a lot of work. I find southgate to be very safe. You have a parking garage specifically for residents and i like the way that the parking lot for guests is not gated. This way your guests can park without going through the hastle of trying to enter through a gate. It is very nice. The pool area is very nice including the game room and computer room. We have a nice study room upstairs by the game room in which you can study and have some steamed milk. I love Trae, who is our first- hand man. He is always available and wanting to help with all of my needs. Maintenance will come and fix anything that you need in your apartment... They have never "stolen" anything from us... like another girl said in a review. The cool thing about southgate is that it is 8 stories high. I live on the 5th floor and have a wonderful view... kind of reminds me of being in a resort. The staind concrete floors are nice and easy to clean and the marble counters are also nice. It has an alarm, but i dont feel compeled to use it because i feel very safe here. We have a security guard walking around at night to ensure our safety. I beleive more than anything that the coolest part about living at southgate is the location... its very close to LSU... you can get to school very quickly. love it!

This was obviously written by a Southgate Employee. No one who lives here would ever say this. Trae walks around doing nothing and if you really lived here you would be going crazy with all of the noise!!!!!!!!!!!
