Southgate looks very appealing to the eye when you drive through the LSU area of Baton Rouge, but please dont be deceived. The staff is completely unhelpful in addressing needs in the apartments and the noise from construction and "improvements" is completely unbearable. There hasn't been a day since I moved in here that I haven't been awaken by 7:30 with ear piercing drilling and construction. When I called to ask when the construction was to be completed the lady said, "We still have 6 towers to go, so you better get used to have construction." It is ridiculous that an apartment this expensive has less customer service and functionality than a bottom tier apartment complex. The pool is constantly closed, there is no gym (although it's "coming" sometime), and the staff gives out violations like that is their primarily concern. Whether you are a student or an adult looking for a nice place to live, for your sake, DO NOT LIVE HERE, you will regret it.
