Good points:air conditioner worked well, internet nice, washer and dryer in room, solid walls to outside noise(not hallway).
After a year of snobbishness-they acted like they are doing you a favor to live there, I decided it was time to move on. The tub water was always luke warm to cool, and stunk something awful. My understanding is that it was sulfur, but the smell is so strong that I never got use to it-I never bathed less. When moving out, I had a 2 inch line on my wall where my TV stand sat, and they charged me a 65% repainting fee. There are some discolored areas on the wall that had something to do with whatever was inside the walls-nothing I had any control over. The bathroom was thoroughly cleaned and they charged for that too giving me a picture of a small ring around the drains. The 12 months I was there, my kitchen sick was held up by the garbage can underneath 10 of those months. This was never properly fixed(after multiple requests, and they had the nerve to give me a picture of this when I left when justifying the keeping of 65% of my deposit. It gets more ridiculous and all I can say is good riddance. The 975. fee is way way overpriced. I found a much nicer place one block away that is 30% cheaper. It may look good on the outside, but that is all you'll get.

I currently live at Southgate and I am worried that this will happen to us too. I think in their lease it actually may state that if you live there for only a year you have to pay 65% which makes no sense. Everyone needs to read this lease VERY carefully. They knew what they were doing! Just another word of caution, you also have to decide by March 31st if you will be re signing your lease (no matter when your lease is up). If you do not give them notice that you would like to resign or vacate they automatically renew your lease.

Yea, RW Day has the reputation in Baton Rouge for keeping the most deposits. Their Better Business Bureau rating is "unsatisfactory" and quite entertaining to read. I still moved into Southgate anyway, and I've lived there since they first opened over 4 years ago, so I figured I got my deposit's worth out of this place. I can't wait to see what they charge me for. Buyer beware I suppose...
