Great at first, then the frustration begins...

The first year or two I lived here it was great. I was the first person to live in my unit and it was clean and new. After this it became unbearably noisy due to the many freshmen living there/screaming in the hallways or from the parking lot up to the balconies/pulling the fire alarm a few times. The security doors were always broken (they tell you how safe it is when you move in, but these features are always broken!) because the spoiled rich kids are too stupid to buy a telephone so their friends can call up.
The office staff absolutely does not care about the residents. They completely ignore you if they think you are young enough to be in college (I am a recent graduate) and will only listen to you if you have your parents call. You WILL NOT receive your complete deposit back ever. Very nit-picky. And Keffney Breland is a nightmare to deal with--rude and does not care!
The yard always smells like pet waste since no one picks up after their pets, and this won;t change since they only threaten to fine people but never do...so no one takes them seriously.

Also, there were multiple times when dog feces in the hallway and/or parking garage weren't cleaned up for a period of time

The only thing good I have to say about this place is the concierge is wonderful! The actual unit itself is very nice. and the pool is beautiful when it isn't overcrowded by a huge number of non-residents who have broken in.

Dear Anonymous, We at Southgate are always anxious to hear the concerns of our residents, especially those like you, who have chosen to renew your lease so many times. While like any other apartment community there are occasionally problems, our staff strives to handle these matters appropriately and in a timely fashion. We think that our success in doing so can be seen in the fact that Southgate consistently renews leases each year at a level well above both the local and national average. Our residents, in general, are very happy with Southgate, and I would encourage anyone having either positive or negative feedback to contact the staff or contact me directly in the office. Your concerns are very important to us, and we appreciate the opportunity to sit down and work out solutions face to face. Thank you for having chosen Southgate as your home and I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors. Sincerely, Keffney Breland Property Director Southgate Towers
