Started out great, but changed managers and went downhill fast. DO NOT rent here.

Years at this apartment: 1994 - 1998
About 5 years when my family and I first moved to Baton Rouge, we chose Spires of Sherwood. The price was right and the clientelle was wonderful. (Mrs. Nita was the name of the manager). Anytime we ever needed repairs they were done. Our manager was NEVER a penny pincher, and she was doing great things for the people. (She had a playground built for the kids and more). Unfortunately the manager changed, because Mrs. Nita earned a promotion. The managers to follow in the next few years were rude and *CHEAP* Our dishwasher began to have problems and we kept getting told they'd come fix it. My DOORKNOB to my room came off and I just wanted a new knob for my door and never got it! The rent kept going up as the quality of people they allowed to rent there went way down. Our airconditioner broke and we waited 6 months for them to fix it, and then gave up and moved out. In the span of a little over a year with the new manager the rent went from $565 all the way up to $675 for a four bedroom apt. The parking kept getting worse and worse. We had people who kept their broken-down car parked in the closest spot next to the apts, and people with two cars complained that they had to drive their car less than 50ft away. It got so bad that they had to assign parking spots, and even then we had arguments with new neighbors. Did I mention there were people in the apartment complex who were slashing tires and breaking into cars' We had 7 cars broken into on just one night. Then we had other people in the apartment who were breaking into other people's apartments during the day. The security was really really poor. The maintenance men started out awesome and then the best one left when Nita left, and the other shortly after. There's not much else I can say except for that I hope I have changed your mind about renting here.
