For starters, in the past 18 days, the cops have been called to my house on 6 occasions. Notice I said house, not apartment. I live in O'Neal Place, the neighborhood that backs up to this establishment. Kids from the age of 6 on continuously jump the fence (or knock it down, or one occasion, drive right through it) and harass everyone on "the other side." I've lived in this house for 20 years and prior to just a few years ago, I could count on one hand how many crimes were committed in this area.
Everytime that I have had an incident I have tried to give the complex the benefit of the doubt and called them to talk to mgmt. It's amazing how no one is ever available to talk or see you and apparently it is not required for them to know how to pick up the phone. You'd think that since a woman (Megan Everett (sp')) was the manager that she would be somewhat empathetic to what's going on. NOT SO. The staff here has the customer service level of a door knob.. needless to say, they're rude and anytime someone shoots at your house, and I quote "it's not my problem, you'll have to call the police. We don't employ security here." I'll get to the shooting in a minute.
Let's continue with why I persistently have the cops "live" at my address. I have witnessed children (in front of their so-called adults, who knows if they're their parents) throw bricks and rocks not only at my house and vehicles but also at my company and father when we're outside. Walked outside tonight and noticed that there were multiple bullet holes in the back glass and tailgate of our truck.. called the sheriff's office to report gunfire.. took them over 30 minutes to get to the house. amazing. So I called the news. I NEED SOMEONE ON MY SIDE, St Jean's not on any one's side. They're moving anyone they can so they can make a buck off the state by claiming Section 8. They don't care how this affects those of us on the outside. The property value of our neightborhood has fallen so drastically that we can't even give away the house. :( For your safety and well being stay away.. read the papers.. child molester was arrested in here less than 3 months ago; rapist was arrested around the same time; murder approx. a year ago; huge drug ring busted here in the past 6 months.. The cheap rent is not worth what you'll lose in the long run.. trust me. We've already lost a lot just by living near these apts.

you have my sympathies. I must say, I have been looking for an apartment, a house, a townhouse--anything that is available and my realtor took me to the same subdivision. In fact, we checked out a house that was near the infamous gate between the subdivision and st. jean. When I saw a man walking from the gate and continuing on the walkway, I asked how in the world did he get through the gate...I waited for no answer, I followed saying "I'm out"! and I left.
