I came to view an apartment on 5/24/08 and the woman working the leasing office was so rude and unproffesional. I waited 15 minutes on the leasing agent to come out from the back and greet me. Meanwhile the resident (also waiting) was telling me to run the other way, and not move there. I stayed because I was interested in the utilities being included with rent. When she finally got settled to help me. She informed me that a criminal background chck would be done. I thought okay that sounds like standard procedure. But then she kept reiterating that a criminal background check would be done;and she did it a total of 4 times after mentioning it originally. And then multiple times she kept repeating the fact(at least 3 x) that I needed good credit and 4x the amount rent with monthly income. I was disgusted, and quite frankly turned off that she, a greasy leasing agent dressed in 1980's Facts of Life tights and a dingy shirt, with matted hair, kept doing this. I make a respectable salary (65,000per/year) and if it were not for this state being a hot bed of racism I would purchase a home. The only time she seemed mildly intrested in having me as a resident was when she kept bragging about having free rent for working weekends only. People in the property management industry in this South Baton Rouge have no class and sense of professionalism what so ever (I wonder are they even high school graduates). Although It looks kind of dumpy, I am going with Chateux Dijon on Essen because out of the 7 apartment communities I visited in south Baton Rouge the young lady there was the most professional, honest and polite. The rest of the wack apartment managers in south br need to stop drinking the local polutted tap water.
