Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I moved in with my wife back in Nov 2007. She had moved to Baton Rouge a few months prior and had signed a two yr lease. When i moved in I noticed very distinct signs that the roof was leaking as well as the cabinet under the bathroom sink was flooded. There were also other issues such as the alarm system did not work. I reported these issues to the office and was assured they would be taken care of promptly. It is now May 2008 and after our bedroom ceiling raining on us constantly and massive amounts of mold growing on the walls, ceiling, inside of the closet, and under the bathroom sink, I decided to contact the BBB as well as several other agencies. They have finally decided to start construction on the apartment, while we are still living here, which is a strict violation of Louisiana law and voids the lease. The complex still refuses to release us from the lease, even with the health issues at stake. The management team that works in the office blamed us for the problem and said that we should have called them everyday until it was fixed, even though my wife and I were both working 80 hr weeks. For your safety, do not rent here.
