Here is the honest truth about these apartments

Disregard to cookie cutter "This is a great place with a cool pool!" reviews. Who writes a review like that anyway' Turnberry Place has great intentions but can only be as good as the craftmanship of their apartments. They are very energy efficent and the ac systems work great. The staff is helpful and friendly. The maintenance people are on target and always fixed everything when I lived there. The bathrooms are extremely big and have lots of storage. The kitchen leaves a little bit to be desired by simply its design. They have two designs. One is square and extremely small, avoid this one. The other is ok because it is bigger and has a breakfast bar. It is still limited on space though and has no real cupboard. The bedrooms are nice and I like how much storage the closets provide. The weird part about my floorplan is that the bigger master bathroom was off of the smaller bedroom (go figure). The construction of these apartments is where they fall short. All of the cabinets are particleboard and cheap. The floors are paper thin so you will hear everything going on upstairs. One night the power went out (so my computer and fan died) an i was able to make out words from people talking at a normal voice upstairs and they sounded like elephants when they walked. The walls are also paper thin and not insulated very well so noise travels easily out of the apartment. Also red ants are a problem on the first floor because they are able to get right through the poor construction. The smoke alarms are ultrasentive and went off everytime I used the oven (use the vent fan). The carpet is very cheap an constantly sheds and it mashes down easily. The washers are great but the dryers are horrible because they do not auto sense when they dry clothes. You will have to stay up and run the cycle through twice on most loads. The toilets are horrible also, you will have to flush them about four times to keep them from clogging up. They do have a nice website though that allows you to make online payments and schedule maintenance requests. The grounds are cookie cutter and a little too perfect but still are nice. The gates are cool because the remote isn't the size of Texas and they are affordable. Management is not strict on the pool rules (so don't get mad at the managers if they are in there after hours - they will allow you to do this also) so as long as you respect everybodys rights you can relax a bit. Bottom line about these aparmtents - the are built to make money. Cut costs and market it to the max. The marketing is amusing but it doesn't cover up that they are built to save money so they can make money. It also seems that they keep sizing down the apartments everytime they build a new complex. Not bad but nothing special.
