Tallow Wood Apts.Small, Overpriced and Dated interiors!

These apartments are very small and have dated retro style kithen appliances.They have the old tile kithen and bath flooring. Brass door knobs throughout.Dated lighting fixtures and very inexpensive ceiling fans.Very cheap carpet. Old central heat and air units and very, very thin walls and floors.Neighbors are easily heard including televisions and stereos etc.The sound carries into other apartments causeing it to echo and vibrate.Floors are also uneven including walls which is quiet noticeable and embarrasing when guest notice which is often.It is also very difficult to keep apartment cool and utilities have been high for such a small apartment which my neighbor has made the same comment to me as well.Apartment floorplans are awkward making furniture placement difficult.Parking is a problem in the evening and dark in areas.Also, We have had a problem with some odd offensive scent coming from our kithen since the day we moved in.Cannot rid of the smell.Also, The kithen has dated cabinets,Sort of oak looking.Location,Airline Drive,Traffic and more traffic.Difficult, Thats the only way to discribe it.We also read on other reviews about electrical outlets not working. We also have one not working.The manager is strange and makes me unconfortable. I do not like going into or phoning the management office for anything unless I must.Management does not handle issues such as noise complaints properly.Very little done with complaints and issues have to be mentioned mulitple time to still have the issues unresolved. Grounds are kept up some what. Sidewalks areas or often dirty and need cleaning.Pets are rarely leashed.Fitness center is next door at Green Acres which is also managed by the same office.Very small laundry care area with very few washers and driers.Have to go mail outgoing mail in office.No outgoing mailbox which everyone just hates. Pool is always full of kids and tenants from Green Acres next door. They have their own pool but choose to use the pool here at Tallow Wood which is another issue ignored by management. Cannot recommend Tallow Wood especially if your military. Keep looking, Take my word.

These apts. are in deed very small.Rent starts at $590.00 for a 561 sq. ft. apartment. Add a washer and drier and thats another $45.00 plus water is not included and runs $20.00 plus a month.The apartments do have dated interiors as mentioned above.Traffic is a daily pain.Unmilitary friendly.

It is amazing to me that renters complain about things such as location. Did you not realize the complex was located on Airline Dr. (possibly the most congested street in Bossier City)when you first went there to lease the apartment? As far as the interiors, did you not view the model or a vacant apartment before you decided that this was the place you wanted to live? If you wanted brand new floors, cabinets, appliances etc. there are newer communities in the area which you could have chosen and paid dearly for it each month in your rent.The rental rates and square footage was not a secret;you had a choice. If you military people are so unhappy why don't you stay in base housing;I'm sure it is state of the art!Or better yet, go buy a house with plenty of acreage so you don't have to be subjected to traffic, neighbors,small floorplans,or a management team to blame when something goes wrong. When you get your first water bill you'll wish you had one for $20. Management does have a life after the office closes and cannot be there 24/7 to monitor and patrol the grounds. Oddly enough, the 3AM disturbance at the pool was military personnel! And in response to the statement that they do not have time to call in work orders to the office;well they had time to enter a blog on this site. If management is not aware of a problem, how can they be expected to fix it? In a 20 something year old building things will break and they can be repaired. Obviously there are more satisfied people living there than unhappy ones or the units would be empty. Ironically, very seldom do the happy, satisfied residents ever take the time to write on these sites, i guess they are too busy having a life.
