Pretty Sad Place to Live

I ran across these reviews only by accident and wanted to put in my two cents worth.
I have lived in several apartments and have moved due to work relocation. So I am used to apartment living and have to say this experiance is the worst I have ever had.
I live at Boardwalk place Apartments now and I am not happy at all here. Some of the staff is ok, but some of them are not, to goody - goody. It is true that the staff had a holloween party for the kids at the pool, but as previously noted in another review, a member of the staff was at the party with beer in hand and packing more. I didn't go to the Christmas Party, I didn't want my children around that again. It is one thing to do it in private, but at a party for the children. VERY INAPPROPRIATE.
I know of a child who lived at this apartment complex and he was shot with a pellet gun and when his mother called the front office the staff advised her to call the police department and when asked about the courtesy officers on site she was advised they could not do anything until a call to 911 was placed. The parents called 911 and none of the courtesy officers at the complex responded. So my question is, why advertise them if they don't do anything. The mother was very moved that a member of the staff did come to her apartment that night and checked on her son.
The apartments are noisy and they never do anything about it. I watched a new tenant move into the building beside of ours and I see them on the balcony and all I can say is THANK GOD we don't live in the same building as them. The balcony is loud enough. The dogs are allowed to bark on the balcony as long as they like. Owners do nothing to stop them. I work nights and try to sleep during the day and had to start wearing earplugs due to the noise of tenants and dogs. Your dog can be of any size, apparently. There was a 60 lb dog running loose and my children would not go outside because they were scared. I went outside and the dog was walking aroung and then laid under the stairwell. No owner in site and no one looking for dog.
My apartment was filty before I moved in. I had to clean it just to live in it. The bathrooms were disgusing.
Security gate that they bragg about - works less than half the time. YEAH. Again, way to brag on something that doesn't work the way you say it does.
CHEAP ASS APPLIANCES - not worth even having in the apartment - would rather have my own.
We do get questionaires and I fill mine out and turn it back in, but of course nothing is done. GO FIGURE.
The maintainace comes into your apartment when ever they feel like it and there is no prior notice. The may ring the door bell or knock, but when your in the shower you don't hear either one and when you get out there is someone in your apartment, it has a way of pissing you off. They did leave a note on the counter they were in the apartment, but with me in the shower. Way to have privacy in your own apartment. I can see if there is an emergency - but I don't know why they were there and they never said why.
If you are so happy with the apartment complex why are you leaving your comments anonymously. Why not leave your name. Is it that same person posting positive comments everyday just to up the ratings or maybe a memeber of the staff is doing it'
Either way - I HATE this place and can't wait to get out as soon as lease is up.
PS - not leaving my name because I still live here and I don't need any one harrassing me before I move out.

Wow!! lets be honest, apartment living is not for everyone! The person who posted this comment does not belong at these apartments. Of all my apartment living (which i've always lived in apartments) this apartment complex is one of the better! Sure the office people can not please everyone...Who can? If people have legitamate problems, I dont understand why they go on the internet & complain & expect any results when this is not an advocte for the apartment office anyway. I bet you if you truely voiced your issues with this apartment office, they will help you. Anyways thats my opinion & I hope you have better luck like I have!

I agree with the original posting. I've experienced similar issues with this complex and always voice my concerns in the questionnaires. I regularly talk to staff and am greeted with smiles but rarely any follow through. I've had maintenence walk in with only a ring of the door bell while I was in the shower twice since I've moved here. I am counting down the days until I can move. I would leave sooner, but I was told I would be charged the full price of my remaining lease.

First let me start by saying how truly sorry I am that you are feeling this way about your stay here at BoardWalk Place. I sincerely wish that you would come into the office and speak with me personally. I want you to know that we are working very hard to improve our Customer Service and we have implemented new policies and procedures for our staff to abide by. I am asking for your patience as well as understanding as we go through a transitional period but I know that we are going to succeed in rectifying ALL of these situations. It is very true that our gates were inoperable a couple of times last year, however with anything mechanical you are going to experience problems due to normal wear and tear and unfortunately all we can do is wait for the gate company to order parts and get the gate back in operable condition. Also for the last couple of weeks in 2008 the gate was inoperable because someone ran into it and we had to get the gate totally replaced. Once again I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused any of our residents however this situation was completely out of our control.
We are a Pet Friendly Community! We allow our residents to bring their pets but we require that they abide by our pet policies and procedures. If you hear a dog barking on a balcony then please call the front office and I promise we will send someone up to that apartment and the situation will be taken care of IMMEDIATELY! That is a danger to the pet as well as a disturbance to our residents and that simply will NOT be tolerated. As for the dog that was 60 lbs, there are a couple of stray dogs that come from neighboring communities that we have no control over but we do our best to run them out of the community when we see them.
In closing let me say that we are not perfect and yes there have been incidents that should have been handled differently and I sincerely wish that they would have been but all I can do is apologize for our mistakes and move forward. We are going to be THE BEST THAT WE CAN BE from here on and do everything in our power to please our residents!
Sincerely,
Dawn

I think this post is ridiculous. It seems like the Anonymous who wrote the review & the Anonymous who left a response are the same person. How many people can possibly be walked in on by maintenance while they are in the shower. That seems like a total fabrication. First of all what are the odds that two individuals work at night and happened to have maintenance come in while they were in the shower. Any time I had an issue for maintenance, I SIGNED a paper giving them PERMISSION to walk into my apartment if I wasn't home. How clear is that? That seems to me a huge indication that if they knock & no one answers, they're coming in because I said they could. The staff is awesome. This sounds like it was posted by a trouble maker.

Hey jerk off maybe you should read the lease that you signed or paid attention upon move in...i know jerking off must get boring so maybe you turned to whining anonymously on the internet about maintaince seeing your little pecker, but you really should find another hobby or maybe get a job. Thanks

WOW! The comment above really just changed my mind about moving here. I do not want my 2 children around people who talk like this. Way to get people to want to move here. This is not a chat room. I think boardwalk needs to get rid of people like this and maybe you would have MORE and BETTER tenants.
