I have been here at Live Oak since 2006. At first I was pleased, but over the last year things have only gotten worse. It is now Dec. 2008 and our "front gate" has been broken since April of 08. Thus, no security right now or for the past 9 months. If they are tired of people trying to break down the "security arm", then they need to replace it with metal. I live in the very front, so I hear a lot of what goes on. I agree with a previous poster about the pool during the summer. It is not maintenanced nearly enough a pool as busy as that should be. I have the SAME issues with maintenance repairs as one of the previous posters. I have called on disposal issues and toilet issues only for me to come back (this most recent time was two days ago) and realize the maintenance guy that fixed the disposal did not make sure it was fixed before he left. So, as I was doing dishes, my feet were getting flooded with water. This is not something I know how to fix, thus the reason for my calling maintenance. The issue of the disposal has occurred 8 times in the past year and a half. To me that seems a little excessive. There is a parking issue as well. I do not think it should have to be a trek to the apartment, especially late at night. There are too many teenagers whose sole purpose is to run through the breezeway ringing doorbells and running away. I'm a middle school teacher and believe it or not, I have a pretty good eye for teenagers that are troubled, teenagers that have a lack of parenting going on in their home, and such. Being in the front of the property, I have seen too many things that these teenagers do including stealing other people's property, as well as damaging it, including my own. I leave my porch empty because I have had multiple items stolen from it in the past year. Overall, these apartments need some maintenance and security overhaul.
There is also the issue of the one dumpster that the trashy residents don't know how to place their trash IN the dumpster. If the dumpster is full, really, shouldn't we just go find another dumpster, or wait till trash day to put the trash out' There is a resident that cannot stand the site of the mess, so he cleans it up himself. Um, this seems like a maintenance issue to me, not an "I pay $850 to live here, so I'm gonna clean up other people's trash" issue. Seriously, think twice before you sign a lease here.
