Loud music all day and night with doors open and bass blaring (from apartments and residents cars), sewers bubbling up in the parking lot, lots of flat tires due to nails everywhere. Several apartments are under post-Katrina repair and the workers leave boxes, drywall, boards, etc. out in the parking lot until it blows away or disentegrates under traffic. I had a broken blind on the patio door upon move-in. It took 4 months and approximately 10 requests to get repaired (every time you ask, they'll tell you that they are working on emergency air conditioning requests). The maintenance guy will tell you he's the only one on the maintenance staff. Rude people sitting on steps that won't move to let you get into your apartment, drunks "taking a leak" in public (sometimes on steps, in public), pool opened several weeks late and is usually closed (and dirtly when it is open), horns honking from 4 to 6 a.m. during weekdays, roach infested, gun stickups for money requests, attempted rapes late at night in parking lot. This place is as bad as it gets! Call the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department or Police and ask about activity before you move here. They advised me to move out, that there's too much activity here. One guy (a personal friend) came home to find his front door kicked in. He reported it daily after patching it up himself. They refused to fix it, said "busy on emergency a/c repair requests". Only after he went to turn in his keys did they want to do something. That's been the case with me and many other residents. You have to give a notice that you're moving out, and they run to your apartment within 10 minutes to make repairs and amends. I have to call 911 regularly to get sleep. If your wife or kids get home after dark, have them stay in the car and walk down to get them. I keep a 12 gauge double-barrel loaded, and informed the inquisitive riff-raff that it would be used first and questions answered later in any situation I deemed necessary. Unfortunately, if you're caucasian, you're definitely not welcome here. However, this doesn't mean anyone is safe. The staff is in the business of leasing, nothing else.
