I have been living in the Carlyle apartment for several months.

I understood that when I moved in, the apartment complex was still performing repairs from Katrina.

However, the maintenance of the apartment is deplorable.

I have called the front office and maintenance personnel several times to report several problems ranging from a leaking toilet, inoperable air conditioner unit, wiring problems in one of the bedrooms (I was told to JIGGLE the outlet to get the lights and other outlets in the room to work!!), non-functioning dishwasher, a screen door that does not open to moldy conditions.

I could not access the mailbox for the first month that I resided there.

However, I received little assistance since I was told that these are not priority problems.

I do not think that a wiring problem, which could possibly cause a fire, was low priority.

Initially, I felt luck to get an apartment at the Carlyle so that I can be in the New Orleans area while I rebuilt my home after Katrina.

However, I feel that the management at the Carlyle took advantage of our desperation and that of others.

The place is a total dump! I would not recommend this apartment to anyone.
