When my boyfriend asked me to marry him I was so happy. Starting a life with him was my dream. Along with that dream was a new place to live. My parents own a house in Stonebridge so I thought that Stonbridge Manor would be a great place to live. At first it was great. The staff was nice and the townhouse was beautiful. Then when my dishwasher broke it took them 2 months to fix it. I had dirty water and food stuck in the dishwasher for 2 months. My place smelled terrible. There was a fight between my neighbor and her boyfriend. He threw her from the second story window, the person below me killed himself in the apartment, I had rats, roaches, spiders, and oh God, the mold. The mold was so bad. It was on the entire top floor of the place. The office staff told me, "Don't worry, we will fix it. I don't know why you are so upset'" After Katrina, the fridge with rotting food may I add, was still in the apartment. I begged them to remove it and they said that they were very busy and would get around to it. I took one week to get it out, I had toxic liquid leaking out from it and they didn't even care. They had insurance agents in the apartments for about 2 days. I was home packing when one knocked on my door. They looked around and said that the hurricane really caused a lot of water damage and mold! I told the guy that the mold was there since Feb. 2004. I even showed him pictures that I had taken months before the hurricane. I guess he told the office staff this, and 2 days later, we were asked to move out. Which was fine with us, we were already moving. We did not get our deposit back. I had to get my mother, who is a judge, to serve them in a law suit for me to get it. TWO YEARS LATER I got a check. I would not let a homeless person live here!
