I have lived in South Down for 1.5 years. It's been a good place to live so far. Location is good as there is grocery stores, pharmacies, and other shopping places with in 3-5 miles. You must realize that this probably holds true for most places down in Houma b/c the town isn't that big. The office staff will usually take care of any problem you have, but you get attitude whenever you speak with them. There seem to be a fair number of kids around and you will always hear them playing outside and picking up their trash that is left in front of your door. The maintenance staff are excellent. They are extremely nice and will take care of any problem that you run across. The parking usually isn't bad as there is always spaces and it is in a gated community although the gate is open 1/2 the time. This isn't a bad thing b/c the gate opener that is supposed to open the gates works about 70% of the time. I would guess that this on the more expensive side of rent when you look in the area, but it's not too bad. My roommate and I split rent at 575 per person. One great thing about the apartments is that it is only 3 miles from Chabert Hospital which makes it great for medical students! BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq
