HORRIBLE!!!

I read reviews on this page prior to attempting to move here, and I thought "ok maybe only mad people write reviews." I gave them a chance, but the people here are THE WORST!!! My boyfriend and I were looking for a one bedroom apartment, and this place has really nice looking spaces for a good price as compared to others in the area. Our real estate agent who came with us had suggested the property, but he had never dealt with them before. First, if you want a pet you pay outrageous pet FEES not a deposit, so you never get the money back. Second, if you are an unmarried couple you each have to make 3.5 times the monthly rent in order to be on the lease. That means 7 times the rent total in order to just live there. If I made that much money, why in the world would I be living there'!' Alone we each only make 2.5 times the monthly rent, but we have perfect credit, perfect employment history, perfect rental history, and no criminal background. Our agent called the manager PAM to discuss this with her, and she stated if all else was fine the 3.5 times issue wouldn't matter. Third issue, we show up on a Friday afternoon, and the manager isn't around, but office worker PAT is there. She doesn't attempt to look at the applications because after viewing a 5x8 postcard that I filled out while viewing the apartment, she knows we won't qualify for the apartment. After telling her that our agent spoke with the manager, she states perhaps we should just come back later. While she was speaking to us, she treated us like children who were simply not good enough for her. Fourth, when we spoke to the manager on the following Monday, she was ten times worse! While waiting for 20 minutes to speak with the manager, we heard every detail of the conversation she was having with the person before us. We heard about his moving problems, his salary problems, and heard the manager also being condescending to him. When it was our turn, I asked the manager if it was ok to close the door for privacy. She said she rathered it remain open. She then proceeded to explain to me that my real estate agent had not been honest with me (doubtful VERY DOUBTFUL), and proceeded to read to me, with a condescending smile, the rental agreement. I explained to her that I could read fine, and that if it had been made clear to my agent about the monthly income being an issue we wouldn't have wasted our time.
We drove across town to the Creeks and were approved in 10 minutes for a more expensive and much more luxurious apartment. The 1st Lake people were much more inviting and polite. In the end, I suggest you avoid this place like the plague! I'm making sure to tell everyone I know.
