I have lived at Sunlake for several years. The complex is very cheaply built and maintained. Management personnel are on the low end. After Hurricane Katrina, residents were on their own if they decided to return. Now after Gustav, Tonti Realty is instituting highway robbery. While residents heeded the warnings and evacuated, Tonti decided to institute a late fee for those that did not return, without electric power and sewage service, and pay rent before Sept 5, 2008. It was stated that this was a corporate decision and was most certainly the policy at all their properties. Nothing like making a little bonanza as a result of a hurricane. These people are selfish, money grubbing dodos. Live somewhere else!

The same thing happened to me too... I went to the office after one week in Atlanta due the evacuation proccess to tell them about it with my regular payment on hand and once I finished to explain them about it, they said, you have to go to make another money order for $50.00 for the late fee payment. They are good and fast when they have to ask for money, but for hurricane Gustav the roof of my apartment was broken and licking water. I call them and they fix it in two months.
