I've lived at Sunlake for over 5 years and actually like it a lot. For the money, you won't find another apt complex in the New Orleans area with washers & dryers in the 1 and 2 bedroom units. I was there for Katrina and I think they tried to fix things as quickly as they could, given the difficult situation. They gave me a 1/2 month rent abatement after the storm since the property was not livable for the first 1/2 of September 2005, which I think was fair. I live in the very front of the property and have had no problems with crime and the residents appear friendly, for the most part. It's an apartment so I don't have extremely high expectations. I live on the top (3rd) floor and have no problems with noisy neighbors.

You have no problems with noisy neighbors because you live in the third floor, but ask the people who live in the first and second floor. They will tell you.

I'm sure they would except that, in my building, the 3rd floor I live on is completely unoccupied except for myself and one other apt. So I doubt the people on the 2nd floor have much in the way of noise coming from the floor above. I deliberately asked for a top floor apt for that reason. Like I said, it's an apt and I don't have high expectations. But, for the money, it's not a bad place to live.
