First - there was not a gym prior to Katrina.

Second - the current pet fee is $500 not $1,500.

Third - the risk of 1st and 2nd floor apartments EVERYWHERE have the risk of hearing the people above them.

It has more to do with the individuals who live above.

If you have rude neighbors - you will have noise problems.

Fourth - when was the last time a landlord replaced carpet while someone is living there with all of their furniture to be hauled out to a different location' It doesn't happen without HUGE expense or extreme damage.

Expecting this is above and beyond any reality.

Yes, there are yearly increases at Sunlake.

This is not a new occurrence to anyone who rents.

Yes, it was excessive after Katrina - since citywide rents increased 40%, one cannot blame Sunlake alone.

The apartments are adaquate.

Maintained in the usual manner of mid-level price apartments.

If you expect lush carpet and newest appliances - go elsewhere and spend more.

The complex is reasonably safe, reasonably maintained, and reasonably staffed.

Wow, nice try at damage control, Tonti people. Yeah, there WAS a gym at Sunlake. Want me to scan and post my schematic/map, given to me at the time of rental? Sunlake and its management group are horrific!

Deposits are never "kept". Charges are made for legitimate damages and maintenance only enters apartments AT A RESIDENT'S REQUEST unless it is an emergency situation. Gates are scheduled to be open during certain daylight hours.

Not true, I found several times people at my apartment without my autorization when I use to live in there, deposits are always kept, and the gates when are close somebody can go in there without a card if he is behind of another car, they need a security guard there. That's not true. I suggest for the new people that want to live in there, before you can take any action or fill the contract, knock at the door of some people that lives in there and ask them about their experience, then make the decision.
