I moved to the Lakes for a year following a relocation to the NO area. Overall, a very nice compound with little to complain about. 1 bd. apt relatively affordable and plenty roomy for 2 people. Never heard my neighbors, save for the occasional shouting match upstairs (maybe twice in the year I was there). Construction leaves something to be desired (peeling paint, crooked drawers, clogged drains, and mold), and management...well, give them your rent on time and they'll leave you alone. Useless otherwise. Maintenance promt and generally thorough.
