Not worth the money

I lived in Audubon Lake for about a year, and like a few have stated, it's not worth the freaking 1260 bucks a pop they charge. A one bedroom is an astronomical 820 dollars, FOR A ONE BEDROOM THAT'S LIKE 600 SQUARE FEET. It's insane. You pay nearly that much at river ranch and you get a crapload of extras. The problem is, if you've got money to spare, you'd be better off at river ranch or grand pointe. Grande Point is bigger and includes all the amneities Audubon Lake includes, river ranch includes the whole "big city" feel, plus shops and clubs etc. 1200 Dollars for a small two bedroom doesn't quite cut it.
That being said about the price, the place is pretty decent. The atmosphere is mainly what you pay for here and it's pretty nice. The "lake" or more like a pond in the middle gives it a nice feel and your balcony is right above it provided you get on the lake.
Service is adequate, it took a day or so for them to come fix the AC, I would expect within a working day if I call in morning for a repair, given the price. Management seems fairly competent and things get done within a normal period of time. One of the major problems was the gate literally ALWAYS being broken. I lived there for 8 months and I'd say 6 of those the gate was wide open because it would break every other day. With the money they expect you to pay that is simply not acceptable. If I pay for a gated community I expect it to be gated.
Also while I was there some moron would park his grass cuttin trailer across 6 parking spots and it took them nearly a month for them to tell him something. Also, though this isnt their fault, someone backed into my car so hard, it sent half my car over the pavement onto the grass. That was no big deal at the time since my car was older, but had it been my new mustang I would have been livid. Again, that's a problem given the amount of money they want you to pay for a "high class" experience. Sadly my experience was not quite "high class".
The size of the apts themselves aren't that big. They were adequate, but my master bedroom felt small and cramped, I only had a twin bed, a desk and a flat screen tv mounted on the wall. You didn't have very much moving room even with those few things. The kitchen was ok, it had new appliances and the counters were neat and new. The washer/dryer area had functional equipment. And The balcony was nice, but rather small.
My neighbors were mostly couples waiting to finish building their homes, business men who needed someplace to stay on business trips, and the occasional family. Oddly, there were a group of thugs that lived close to me, and it was a tad annoying. They had some loud music and would come to the pool with what was obviously their entire extended family, they were loud, obnoxious and destructive to the pool while they were there. Probably an isolated incident but should be noted.
Even though some of the things I mentioned are isolated incidents, it detracted from my overall experience paying so much money to live there. I probably wouldn't live there again, I would more than likely choose River Ranch or Grande Point for a "high class" experience unless they cut their prices to something reasonable. Would I recommend living there' Probably not unless you really have a few extra hundred bucks to burn. And if you do, you'd be better off in River Ranch or Grand Pointe ( though grand pointe is a litte far down the way).
