I live in Beau Chenes apartments for 1 year while I was attending ULL. Worst experience EVER. First of all, I had my car towed twice, I had a parking sticker and everything..still towed it, and I had to pay 60 bucks a time to get my car back. The parking lot was littered with trash and broken down cars. Never any where to park. Every weekend the parking lot below my unit became the local party spot. About 30 people drinking and doing drugs would gather there and dance around to loud music and throw beer bottles everywhere. Second, I had the worst neighbor. No one lived in the unit to the left of mine but the neighbor on the right would listen to music full blast all day and all night, he would walk around in nothing but his underwear and stare into my apartment everytime he walked past. I would ask him to turn his music down and he would threaten me. I complained several times but nothing was ever done. The grounds were covered in trash and the stench from the dumpster was over powering. As for the safety...I had a bullet come through my window!!!! I called the management and she told me NOT TO CALL THE POLICE because it was nothing to worry about, they never fixed the window that the bullet came through and refused to do anything about my broken stuff as a result of the bullet. The apartment was gross, the walls were sticky with pubic hairs stuck in the paint in the bathroom, stains all over the floor, burn holes in the carpet and on the counter tops, broken applicances, no hot water. Always stunk no matter how much I cleaned and no air freshener could cover it. stairs were warped and the ac hardly worked, everything was rusted. Constant bug problem, silverfish is what the exterminator told me they were. Everytime I had a problem the management was no help, often times she ended up yelling at me for bothering her while she was watching her soaps. yard work was done at around 6am on saturdays. the laundry facility was disgusting, smelly and most of the time out of order, the pool was an oversized toilet. After a year of living there I decided it was time to go, getting my deposit back turned into a huge fight and I eventually gave up on it. Over all I would say that this has to be one of the worst places to live in lafayette. I would NEVER recommend this place to any one. It should be torn down.
