I lived at Beau Chenes for about 2 years. When I first moved in they were pretty decent, especially because the rent was so cheap. ---- was always nice to my boyfriend & I and any problems we had were taken care of promptly by Mr. ----- (who I heard has left). The apartment was definitely nothing fancy, but for 18 year olds it wasn't bad. By the last few months of living there, the tenants started to get trashier and I no longer felt safe like when I first moved in. The noise also increased and a lot of people partied in the parking lots at night. There isn't enough visitor parking and a ton of people get towed there. I guess if you're fresh out of high school it would be a good apartment, esp. b/c it's close to campus...but otherwise I'd look elsewhere. You can find better quality apartments for the same rent.
