Good for Some, Not for All

As the name suggests, University House is aimed toward college students. If you're an easy-going, party-lovin' student looking to get out of the dorms, (but still be surrounded by young UL people) I'd check it out. If you don't fit in that catergory, don't waste your time.
The location of this complex is great. Within walking distance to a strip mall, Cajun Field (and the bus transit system), and several fast food joints. It's only a short drive to the interstate or the UL campus.
I think the biggest turn off is the other residents. Many are inconsiderate and indifferent. My roommates and I lived on the third floor and the people below us LOVED their huge stereo. The walls are pretty thin. I wouldn't recommend an apartment facing into the courtyard. If anybody decides to swim, play basketball or volleyball at 2am, the slightest noise is bounced off the walls and amplified into the bedrooms. There's always a party somewhere on the complex (not that it's a bad thing, but it can be distracting and irrating).
I didn't particularly enjoy the expirence of living with 3 people (we had the 4bed/2bath floor plan). In my opinion, one roommate is enough. Make sure you reeeeeeeally like the people you going to live with. And we often run out of hot water if we all took showers within a 4 hour period. The water heater wasn't large enough for the job.
The apartments come fully furnished. The pieces are heavy solid wood and very sturdy. All four small bedrooms were cable internet ready which is difficult to find in apartment communities. The utilities are combined with the rent, so you only have to worry about one bill a month. The grounds and buildings are kept very clean and the maintaince people are friendly, quick, and reliable.
Being a young, female college student, there were a few times were I felt a little unsafe, but nothing serious ever happened. Once you get into your apartment there's a deadbolt and keypad alarm system to protect you.
Overall, I found it to be like upscale dorm living with an added expirence of paying off bills.
