I have lived here for 15 months. University House, formerly known as University Courtyard, is THE WORST PLACE! The walls are stiff sheets of paper. On move in day they didnt allow us to move in until 6PM in the evening. All of our furniture had to sit outside including bed matresses. Management didnt give a HOOT. We were told that as long as we moved in on that day it didnt matter what time it was. So we sat in the heat watching as maintenance put down carpet, floors, and removed our toilets from inside of our tubs where they were being stored.(DISGUSTING!!) The first week in, I leaned against one wall with my foot on the other and MY FOOT WENT STRAIGHT THROUGH. If you place your hand on the wall and move it, the print remains, I believe the paint is Fisher Price. VERY CHEAP PEOPLE!!
Our ac froze up 75% of our stay. And I NEVER heard of this one--you get fined for EVERYTHING: your roomate leaves a trashbag outside, the guy from upstairs throws a cigarette butt down, drying swimsuits on your balcony...the list goes on. The light fixture came crashing down in my bathroom and bedroom. I always wonder what type of lawsuit that would have been had i been sitting on the john and the light fixture came down cracking me over my head. Speaking of bathrooms, hot water was nonexistant. We play rock, paper, scissors to see who goes first b/c the hot water last 5 minutes and the next person has to wait about 10 to 15 for it to kick back up. I would get on the noise maintenance makes when remodeling or whatever but that would start page 2. It's an extended dorm life so if you are past that level of needing yet another form of parenting...go get a BIG girl or BIG boy apartment. Past this nursery up. Other than ALL of that...nice pool, cool area, convenient computer lab, and clean grounds. Ideal for you if you want to live with your friends and dont want to pay a lot of bills. (one payment for rent, electricity, and cable)
