I lived in University Courtyards (now UH) for 3 years (2002 - 2005). Michael was the manager, and he was awesome to us. The apartment is fully furnished, and the rent includes all bills (phone, electric, water, cable TV, cable internet), so that is very nice and convenient.

I left because of the RUDE tenants living there. It definitely is a glorified dorm. Everyone is noisy and inconsiderate. I have never been the partying type, so being woken up at 2am by someone's car stereo bass, isn't my idea of a nice place to live.

Also, people's car alarms would go off all of the time, and they'd just let them continue to go off! My roommate and I would turn ours on if it lasted too long, until the person realized it was annoying and shut their's off. It was pathetic to be reduce to this, but it worked.

A girl totally plowed into another car in the parking lot, and my roommate saw her leave and called the cops. The girl had returned by then and denied it all. Good thing my roommate saw it happen!

The office staff wasn't that helpful, because they are mostly college students and they have a high turn-over rate, so they didn't know much. You had to talk to the manager or assistant manager if you want to get things done.

The walls are VERY thin. You can hear everything in the other apartments. Not only are the walls thin, but so are the ceiling and floor. NO SOUNDPROOFING. You can hear the people downstairs music and the people upstairs having sex (well, the bed anyhow). Everyone walking upstairs sounds like they weigh 300 pounds.

Oh, and four roommates is too many. You never know who does what, unless they admit it. And many people will not admit if they break or dirty something when there are at least two other people to blame. You and one other person is perfect...if you didn't do it, he/she did!

BOTTOM LINE, LOOK ELSEWHERE...unless you are a rude, inconsiderate 24-7 partier. Then stay at UH, because we don't want you at the "good places".
