After reading some of the blatantly obvious reviews by staff members I'm compelled to write my own review of Peppertree. Let me just say I came from Audobon Lake, and as nice as it is it really is TOO pricey for what you get. So I wanted to get something between high class and middle class. Bayou Shadows is too "poor" for my taste and Grand Pointe was way too far out. Peppertree falls somewhere in between, and for the rent it isn't BAD. It's not awesome per se, and the moment they raise the rent it will become a crappy deal.

It's $945 for a 2 bedroom, which isn't bad, only 475 a piece. The apt is about 25% bigger than what I had at Audobon Lake, which is nice. The master bedroom is nice and spacious and you have your own private balcony. I'm not sure what the lady below me is on, she's obviously a staff memeber, but it isn't like a "condo on the beach", which is just asinine to say. It's nice on a cool summer day though and for the most part theyre arent any noisey kids or "poor class" neighbors. I live next to two cops and an elderly guy and it's nice.

Now for the downsides, like a couple of reviews have stated before me, the place is damn near infested with roaches. I guess infested would be a harsh term, but it's like at night they come out and they crawl everywhere. You surely can't leave food out overnight or exposed. It's little dirty baby roaches, not the big thick tree roaches which isn't so bad. All the appliances are pretty dern old. The only new things are the washer and dryer (new meaning early 2000) and the microwave. There's also a useless garbage compacter, which is also pretty 1990, meaning who the heck uses it. The balcony is rotting out and the wood inside is pretty old. Actually all that is no big deal, it's just the damn roaches that are close to deal killers. If the rent ever goes up to where it's 500 a piece, it's just not worth it with the roach infestation.

All in all really the place isn't BAD. Youre close to a lot of stores and the mall, and it's a good halfway point to most places. The rent is reasonable and the staff so far seems competant. I'd say dealing with moronic staff is prolly second on my list of priorities. I can deal with most everything else, but if a place is run by morons you need to get out of there quick. So far though so good. Peppertree is good "middle class" apartments. I haven't noticed any riff raff as tenants, it's mostly older college students and single moms and grandparents, for me that's a plus (I'm 27). If you go in expecting "average" you'll pleasantly surpised as it's a slight step above. If they'd give the inside some updates (all new cabinents and appliances, change out the rotted balconies, get rid of the roach infestation) i'd be willing to pay more, but as it is now it's not a bad deal.
