You couldn't pay me to live here

I lived there for 6 months by myself as a SINGLE female. I worked a regular 40 hour work week and traveled for work most of the time. So as you can imagine I WAS ALMOST NEVER HOME. However every time I came home I was alwasy being whitsled at and called "Hey ga come see lemme holla at ya" from various men that hung around the complex. I even had the police called on me four times by my neighbors for noise 2 time of which I was home alone and sleeping and once I just came in for lunch. Funny enough every time the police arrived they could not find where the so called noise was coming from and were very polite to me about it and the last time it happened they actually had to threaten the neighbors to stop making false calls. The management is horrible when I initially moved into the apartment the carpet was horrible they didn't even repaint the walls but I took the apartment anyway because apartments were scarce at the time due to the arrival of several evacuees in Lafayette and I would not have a place to stay for 2 weeks if I didn't take it. The manager told me to simply write everything that was wrong upon move in and turn it in and that I should not have to worry about it when I move out. Well, Little did I know that the key word was "SHOULD". Because after I moved out they tried to charge me a $300 carpet cleaning fee for a carpet that was not even cleaned when I moved in and had what appeared to be koolaid or punch stains on the carpet in the living room. They also tried to charge me for nail holes that were in the wall when i moved in. Which Im sure they charge every resident for the same holes because I never hung anything up in that apartment. I barely even ever unpacked anything. They also tried to charge me $175 for so called wall damage in the second bedroom where there were crayon stains on the wall. Which was obviously from the previous tenant who actually had kids. It took forever for me to get the dumb manager to understand that I do not have kids nor do I own crayons and secondly why would a grown woman at the age of 25 such as myself be doing coloring on the walls. But she still kept trying to pretend as if she didn't remember that they were there when I moved in and she told me to write it on the move in sheet, which I did. Finally she reviews the move in sheet and only gave me a 50 percent reduction on the charges and had the nerver to call it fair. The kids in the complex frequently throw rocks at my door and one day one of the kids cracked the window in my bedroom. I reported it to management and they never came to replace the window but they tried to charge me $275 to replace it when i moved out. In addition to that if you want to wake up in the middle of the night by loud music, or people fighting each other outside, or some guy kicking his girlfriend out at 3am, or even your upstairs neighbors havinng sex and you having to hear every bit of it because the apartment is so old and the insullation is terrible then this would be a perfect hell hole to live in.....and oh did I mention that the parking lot floods every time it rains no matter how little or how hard it rains. My clothes even got stolen one time from the laundry facility.....and no i did not leave them there overnight. What happened is that my clothes finished washing, i came in and placed them in the dryer I came back 45 minutes later only to find my underclothes left in the dryer and the majority of my pants and shirts were gone. I even think I knew who the perpetrator was. I figure it had to be the female I saw on the way out as I was on my way back in. Well, I have a law suit pending. So if you have money to fight these people after they rip you off then go ahead and move in. I know this whole law suit is already costing me alot and we haven't even reached the court date yet. But I know that it will be worth it when I win. These people are liars and theives.

Wow what a story are you sure that this was not on television. I find that the apartment situation is a little scary thank for your review it really gave me a clear picture of this complex and I will certainly stay clear.

I worked for the managment company that managed Pinewoods at the time of this review and Pinewoods HAS NEVER been involved in a law suit. That leads me to believe that if this person would lie about that, how true is anything in this review?????? I now manage Pinewoods and the parking lot drainage has been repaired and the sidewalks are currently beening repaired. Pinewoods is very well managed and supervised. I have never had a resident have the police called on them multiple time that were 100% inocent. Pinewoods is a wonderful home for our residents. We have many residnets that have made Pinewoods there home long term. We currently have some of our residnets that have lived here anywhere from 8 to 18 years. Come by and judge for yourselves.
