Registered Sex Offender / I Feel Unsafe

I moved into Pinhook South in Feb. 2009. I am just finding out, by pure curiosity, that there is a registered sex offender that lives a few apartments down from me. This man has 14 sex offenses. Nothing was said of this when I moved in, which if I understand correctly SHOULD be told!!!
I am very uncomfortable with this information and I will be letting the staff know how I feel about this.
I found this information by going to the following website:
familywatchdog.us

Also, when we moved in, they told us that the dishwasher was broken and not hooked up. Well that has YET to be resolved. So we have no dishwasher and no cold water in the kitchen, so when we wash dishes by hand, the water is entirely too hot.

There are holes in the ceiling with tissue or something stuffed in there.

When we moved in, our AC did not work, and it flooded a part of our living room.
However these geniuses "fixed" the carpet has discolored it horribly, and are trying to say that we are responsible for this because we let the carpet get wet.
Well, I'm sorry that we work and didn't realize it was dripping.
We notified them when we noticed it.

Oh and, we tried to move living room furniture (standard sofa) in, but the layout makes it almost impossible. We all have the bad backs to prove that.

Parking is first come first serve... so if someone has more than 3 people over you've got to park in BFE.

OH AND, someone stole the mirror off of the passenger side of my car.
I went to sleep and it was there, got up to go to work the next morning and ONLY the mirror was missing. Someone popped it off.

When I asked the staff about break-ins there was no reassurance of safety.
Her response was "When South Point (a neighboring apartment complex) gets hit, we usually get hit also."

When your lease is up, and it's time to move out...
You must clean the entire apartment and polish all faucets and what not.
If you have pets, you must pay for people to come in and disinfect the apartment.
All lightbulbs must be changed, etc., etc.
Then they inspect it, and if it is not 100% perfectly clean, you do not get your deposit back.
Now, I know you should clean up before you leave, but its a little overboard in the contract.

The main problem I have with this place is that I feel unsafe.
There is one, useless deadbolt on the door, and that is all.

And I find it very over priced for what they have to offer.

If you're smart, you'll stay away from this place.
I have 8 months left of my lease. =[
Wish me luck.

There are no sex offenders. If they are, it is because the office is unaware. You should go in and talk to them. They have helped me with ANYTHING I ask. And maybe if you would go in and make a service request...they would fix your stuff! Common sense. Which you have none of.

Well evidentally we are two different people, and we're experiencing different things. According to the official gov. website, there is a sex offender, who has 14 counts of sexual offenses. I want to know why I was not told this when I moved in. Or, if he moved in after I did, why we were not alerted. It is a law to notify residents within a certain radius of a registered sex offender when they live near you. And I shouldn't have to tell them what they already know. They knew my move in date, and it still was not completed. They were the ones who told me about the dishwasher situation, so it's not like they have no idea it needs tending to. And that was months ago. All of this stuff was documented on the sheet they give you to fill out when you move in. It was turned in, and they are aware of everything I wanted them to be aware of. And the office is suppose to conduct a criminal background check, which they do not do, because USUALLY if they do, you have to go and get your own report. I didn't have to do that. This apt. complex is ridiculous and anyone who is looking to live there should know that.

These apts are terrible for the price and the mgmt is very dishonest. They lease an apt to you that is not in good repair, ask a fortune for it and do not care about residents in the least, only that money they collect. This company is very greedy, they charge $50 on the 2nd of the month if rent is not paid on the 1st, then $5 each day after that. Majority of apt complexes give a 3-5 day grace, like 1st-3rd or 1st- 5th, even the really classy apts, which obviously this is not one of them. Up until last month they would put evictions day on their community calendar of events which you receive on your door, how tacky is that? When you call for courtesy patrol, you then discover that courtesy patrol is actually maintenance, LOL And they are usually not available to assist you, of course. This place appears to be drug infested also. Mgmt does not inform you of changes in your complex as to new owners and/or property mgmt, which is something you have the right to know. When you move in you are told there is only a 12 month lease available but yet on websites advertising this community it states a 3-12 month lease availability. What is the salary for dishonesty? Does mgmt get paid that much? I doubt it. If you search the web about Lynd Co, they seem to have a very bad reputation, especially of how tenants are treated and the companies greed. Not a good choice for a place to live or as Lynd co says a place to call home. Oh and the reply to the other comment that was written that in the end says that the other person has no common sense, well I think most likely mgmt wrote that because I have trouble believing a tenant wrote that reply LOL. If you are smart and care about where you live and really want to feel at home then this is surely not the place for you. BEWARE.
