Not for long term living

This is not a bad place to live for a short period of time such as between places or during college, if you are a street smart person who can only afford the cheapest available. We've lived in this apartment complex for about 7 months and do not have any major problems with the staff, but the complex changed ownership in the past month and we still have not been officially told, I found out because I could not pay rent online and had to go to the office.
As has been said by others, the complex and surrounding areas are a bit run down and there are registered sex offenders around the area. I would feel safer if there weren't two huge glass doors at opposite ends of the apartment. Also, because of the doors the apartment does not stay cool and so the a/c has been on since the heat came in May.
The neighbors we've had have ranged from quiet (not sure if anyone was living there) to obnoxious loud yelling matches and slamming doors. And yes the walls and ceiling are paper thin.
We choose the place for the square footage. And room and space-wise its great, but I do not plan to renew especially since it seems it is guaranteed that the rent will go up a significant amount.
Oh and the master bathroom is weird with the sink in the pathway to the closet and the rest behind a closed door.
