Fleur de Leis was nice when we first moved in. The price was very appealing, and while nothing special, it was close to McNeese.
However, it seems that Fleur de Leis has changed owners recently, and the new owner is clueless. He doesn't care for the property very well (washing machine in the laundromat has been broken and full of gross water for 2 weeks now), and on top of a recent raise in rent, they are threatening another raise in rent only a few months later, unless you sign a 6 or 12 month lease. It used to be a good budget apartment, but they're getting greedy.

I'm trying hard to locate the owner to see if he cares how his manager and staff are treating the black tenants in the building? They are provoked and harrassed, followed around with cameras and the police are called for on them for no reason. There are racial slurs and comments made and the people who are my priority doesn't bother anyone or make trouble. I never knew there was a clause in your lease that you must be inside your apartment at a certain time and cannot come out until a certain time. ------ are racially discriminated against and management finds petty things to try and evict someone. Oh and I never knew that you can't be a guest in a tenant's apartment while they are at work? Now how stupid is all this? In the process of contacting NAACP and an attorney to file a discrimination suite! If it wasn't for those black's in that complex, you'd have a lot of empty apartments in which they're not all that anyway!

I think the main issue is safety. Another post commented on someone being robbed at gunpoint. I don't know what race the robber or person being robbed were, but I think that the apartment complex is trying to keep ALL tenants safe. I don't agree with the racial slurs, those are completely uncalled for. I have heard of leases where there is a curfew, another safety component. I wouldn't always flip the race card.
