After living in numerous apartment communities over the years in several different states, River Oaks is by far the best apartment community I have ever lived in! From the lush landscaping and amenities, to the modern apartments and excellent staff, this is easily one of the top places to live in the Lake Charles area.
Although rent can be on the high side, you get your money's worth in the high-quality construction of the apartment homes, the quick response to maintenance requests, and the amenities such as the tropical-style swimming pool and fitness center. The leasing office staff is professional, courteous, and so helpful when you have a question or issue. I wasn't used to this after having to deal with so many rude, inconsiderate apartment management staff in the past that could care less about me or any of their other residents. The location on Nelson Road put me right in the middle of town, and just a short drive to my work, shopping areas, casinos, and nightlife. Best of all, living in River Oaks gave me piece of mind after going through both Hurricane Rita and Hurricane Ike, and not experiencing any damage to my apartment or belongings...while many of my friends and coworkers elsewhere in town suffered major damage and flooding to their homes. This is another testament to the high-quality modern construction of the River Oaks community and their spectacular maintenance staff.
In short, if you are new to town or a local resident looking for a great place to live in the Lake Charles area, River Oaks should be at the top of your list!
