I have lived at Shadowood for less than a year. I have lived in many apartments complexes around Lake Charles and this is by far the noisiest complex -- not traditional noise that is expected of an apartment, but above and beyond normal noise levels. Music, semi-parties, children who are running, stomping and shrieking late into the evening. The management tries their best, but could take a more proactive approach to stopping noise. The lease specifically says that residents are supposed to monitor their noise levels. There is a courtesy officer on staff, but it doesn't seem to provide any maintenance to the noise. The complex is either poorly constructed or the selection of tenants is lax. Although the complex looks great, it is more of a college dorm environment.
