Most of the reviews are 5-6 years old so I think maybe Dragonlady has been vanquished. As of today, 7/13/09, I have lived at Shadowood for 1 1/2 years in the one-bedroom section. Noise is not an issue here since most one-bedrooms don't have children. The units are well-designed and my building is very close to the pool and laundry. Management doesn't interfere and keeps people informed by hanging notices outside the door rather than going inside. I've had two maintenance requests in all my time here and both were handled the same day I made them--and neither was an emergency. All in all, I've been happy here and have only one reservation. Water is not paid and the rent is higher than comparable places in town. Still I would recommend Shadowood to those who can afford it and need the central Lake Charles location.
