I just got out of court in Leesville, LA and it was a perfect scenario of small town polictics. I got raped for $2400 court costs and interest for when I terminated my lease early with 30 written notice. The apartments look nice from the outside but inside is horrible. They never fix anything. And I received numerous spider bites there. After asking them to spray for months and to fix things I finally decided the move out. They would not do a walkthrough. They sued me in court and you ever get that feeling that you've lost before anything has been said. Well I was right. The complex is located on Eissman Road. It's owned by the Eissman's. You see where I'm goin with this. They are so connected in this small town that my lawyer informed my last year that I was probably gonna lose. But I had to try. The judge pretty much told me that all they had to do was make the place liveable. Which he thought it was. He didn't care about the spider bites or that they didn't fix anything because it was habitable . Futhermore that if I had came up there on the stand and screamed about the spiders that he may have reconsidered. He didn't care that I had pictures of the spiders, of my bites, medical statements that showed I was treated for the bites, written dated letters where I asked them to fix things for 6 months. He said that if it was so bad, why didn't I move somewhere else sooner. Thats what I get for thinking people will do the right thing. Oh yeah every once and a while you get brown water for a couple of days. There is a train track located less that 250 feet from the complex If you're moving to this area and renting, I highly recommend Deridder, LA over Leesville.
