We are a travel nurse company and had 4 nurses stay in 4 different apartments for three months in late 2008. This complex had been recommended to us by the hospital. Since we are a company, we pay for the housing and the cleaning. We arranged with the owners to have the units cleaned once our nurses moved out. We asked them via emails to send invoices for cleaning so we could pay for it. After our nurses moved out, one of the managers/owners called to let me know that one nurse had smoked in her apartment and left if a mess. I acknowledged that we would forefit that deposit, but we needed pictures and documentation of any damages or extra cleaning of the units.
We had not received any documentation and followed up with them. We were told that we would not receive any deposits back because the nurses did not clean the units nor did they schedule a walk through before leaving. We did make the cleaning arrangements and it is NOT stated in the lease that a walk through is required. It does state that they have the right to enter the apartment to do an inspection after the 30 day notice to vacate is given.
Basically, they are lying and stealing our deposits- total of $3500. They can't give any proof, can't dispute our documentation and just keep telling us to read our lease. They need to read the lease themselves as a refresher of what it actually says. We will also be reporting them to the hospital to not recommend them to anyone else.
Please be aware- the manager/ owner is posting most of the positive ratings herself. The email address that she has been using to send correspondence to me is the same one listed below on a earlier positive rating!
