I am also a resident at Chateaux DiJon apartments. People do not understant that sometimes inorder to fix a maintenance problem you need the proper materials. As a construction worker, I know that some materials are not readily available and need to be ordered. Also, pets were not accepted in the begining; however, I heard that several tenants did not follow the rules and had pets living with them. My friend who also lives here did this and he was charged pets fees. You can not blame management for tenants who disreguard the rules.

Yes you can blame management. Isn't it their JOB to MANAGE the complex? If people are breaking the rules, they should be evicted.
It's a shame this complex fell in the hands of money-hungry managers after Katrina. I was a tenant before Katrina and moved back to Metairie to be outraged at their rent rates and now not allowing pets when I had two previous to Katrina.
And in another post they claimed that they aren't lowering lease prices with specials but that is a lie. They run specials all the time on craigslist advertising regular $740/month apartments for around $680.

A management office can no more control what people do than you can. There are standards and guidelines to evictions; you can not just go around evicting people. And the managers have nothing to do with the pricing of the apartments. You must not know much about the business. Pets cause a lot of damage; I would not accept pets if I owned an apartment complex.
As a tenant I believe the prices are reasonable and comparable to most apartment complexes is Metairie. The apartment complex was completly renovated after Katrina. It's beautiful!! Before katrina the complex was still very nice , but a bit outdated. Do you know how much money is involved in renovations? Prices on EVERYTHING went up after katrina!
There have been no price specials at Chateaux DiJon since July of 2007. The prices have gone up but are still comparable to the other apartment complexes in Metairie. The only specials on Craig's list is 1/2 off the 1st monhts rent for two bedrooms. There are no such apartments that even rents for $680. The rents posted does not include the additional fees for trash, water, and gas. The rents went up not down. I think you need to get your information strait :)
Just like the housing market prices are subject to change at anytime. I thought specials were a good thing???
