So many issues, where can I start' In the beginning, everything was great. After a while we began to notice many different problems. The exterminator did stop by every 3 months but that tapered off eventually. We hadn't had anyone spray in our apartment in the last 9 months which we lived there. Roaches were not too much of an issue (at least not anymore than can be expected) but if it is a policy to have each apartment exterminated every 3 months, not one unit should be skipped. In the short time we lived there, ownership and management changed too many times to count. This could be why everytime I called or stopped by the office to report a maintenance problem, I spoke to someone different each time. Also, this could be why each work order taken for the maintanence issue was never completely taken care of or "lost." Everything in our closet was covered in mold, partly due to the humidity but mostly b/c of the rotting window caulking and weather stripping. While the weather stripping was replaced, nothing has been done about the windows. A leak in the bathroomm ceiling was reported 4 separate times due to its constant reoccurance b/c of the shoddy maintanence work. Maintenance doesn't fix to fix, they basically put bandaides on broken legs for appearance sake only. Needless to say, the same problems continued to come back to haunt us. While noise and parking weren't an issue, the dumpsters were. There simply are not enough dumpsters for the amount of trash generated by the residents. Trash was constantly piled up around the dumpsters on a daily basis. To make matters worse, at one point the dumpsters were replaced by smallers ones! In a matter of 4 months the sewage backed up in our bathroom 3 times, always late at night or weekends. How convenient that 24/7 maintenance was reduced to exclude weekends right around this time. Cleaning up other people's excrement out of my tub and off of the floor is not something anyone should deal with, especially not as often as this occurred. To top things all off, after we explained all of the above as reasons for leaving, the woman who was currently manager says, "Please recommend us to anyone you know who is looking for an apartment." This is a prime example of how issues are handled at La Maison: with complete ignorance. In short, this property is definitely not worth the price.
