I have been a resident for about 8 months now, and I really enjoy my apartment. The facilities are always clean, and maintenance issues are resolved quickly.

About the crime. Check the NOLA.com crime tracker. They show 2 residential burglaries in the past year on the 2400 block. Now, La Maison has 176 units, assuming the complex across the street has a similar number of units, that's 1 break in per year at each complex. One of them reported his door had been kicked in. If that is the case, it was not at La Maison. I was in Baghdad for a year, and I have kicked in doors for real. You cannot 'Kick in' the doors at La Maison. So, I find that report skeptical. Also consider the population density. If you had an area of town with 170 houses, and once a year, one of them was burglarized, would it be considered a high crime area'

Cleanliness' My apartment was almost spotless when I moved in. I found a couple of shelves that needed a little more cleaning, and some dust on the air condition vents. Thats it. Also, being nosy, I took a look at a neighboring apartment that was being cleaned after a resident had moved out, and the cleaning crew was doing a very good job. Also, the parking lot, and the courtyards are always clean. I have seen one of the apartment managers walking the facility in the mornings when I am on my way to work, if she sees anything trash around, she picks it up herself, and throws it away.

My wife and I have had one problem with the apartment, a problem with the shower. It did take a few days to fix, but that was because of scheduling problems with us, not with the maintenance. Once the problem was fixed, it was fixed.

I have asked the management on several occasions to take an extra step for me, signing for Fedex packages while I was away, and helping me resolve a paperwork issue on a Saturday, because that was the only day I could meet with them.

I have also seen comments about the parking. I have friends who live at other, more expensive apartment complexes, and when they visit, they are jealous that I can park with in feet of my door.

This is also a great location for an apartment. I am just a few minuets away from Clearview Mall and the Target store located there. Lake View mall is also very close. Rouses is 10 minuets down Clearview. I have all of this easy access, and I live on a dead end street, so no all night traffic around my place.

La Maison is not perfect, but it is a very nice place to live, and, the price is exceptional.

I couldn't agree more!! Thank you for sticking up for our apartment complex! Maybe if the good residents like us keep writing nice reviews we can get rid of the ones that are talking trash and are probably bad neighbors to boot! La Maison is not perfect like you said, but its pretty close!

lol.....take a look around in my building alone there are 3 different residents with trash at there front door and 2 of them have been there for over 48 hours..now im not talking trash just the truth....
