If the previous reviewer really expected "no rent increases"...and to complain about a $10 increase! When I moved to the former Posada del Rey in August 1993, the rent for a 3-bedroom unit was $570 per month...I left there in August 2006 when they raised the rent to $1,025! Figure the percentage for yourself! Of course, the most recent increase was due to Katrina, and the previously "most recent" was due to the significant upgrades to each unit; e.g. washer & dryer, new drainage system in the courtyards & parking area, new bathtub/shower units, all new appliances, new railings for stairs & walkways, & greatly improved security (gate & fence). I would have stayed there indefinitely, but Katrina caused ALL the first floor apartments to be flooded ("only" a foot or two of water) and empty for quite a long time. This led to increased insurance costs, in addition to lost revenue for many months. There was, no doubt a healthy dose of "landlord greed" involved too.
