I was sold when I saw how pretty the outside complex was, and it looked very well-lit and lively..I also fell in love for the sample apartment they showed me. I did not feel safe in my studio apartment at all however. Houma is suppose to be a nice area, however they did not inform me that Section 8 housing was right next to the complex. I am not from the city, so I did not know this. This complex is supposidly gated, however, the gate remains open constantly and anyone can just walk around it. People from Section 8 & other nonresidents housing like to cross the bridge from one side of the building to the other side so they can avoid walking around the block..Anyone can get in. I would sometimes come home to see 3-5 random "gangsters" just standing in the parking lot, really close. They obviously did not live or belong there. I would try to come home early so I didn't have to walk up to my apartment at night..I even bought Pepper Spray for my own safety. Luckily, I didn't have to use it..I'd come home at night to see very odd, scary looking people, and every Saturday morning, a grown man would play "basketball" in the parking lot, with an imagenary ball and goal..Lots of wackos. My neighbor was a registered sex offender so I moved out, in fear of my safety since at the time, I was a student. At the time when I asked if there were any registered sex offenders, they told me they could not give that kind of information out because "it violated the privacy of the tenants." They tried to give me hell about me breaking the lease. Luckily, I got out of it, but not without a good fight. I wouldn't want anyone to have the same experience as me. This place was one of the worst places I ever lived
