I moved in here in June of 2003. Now, I feel i can say i know this place pretty well. Its a small community, with mostly young professionals. No real families/kids. I originally had reservations about being somewhere small (didnt want it to be too invasive, or provincial) but it definitely is not. People keep to themselves, but are also friendly if you say hi or if you are at the pool.

As far as particulars, there are quite a few people with dogs & all are pretty well behaved. I have a lab mix and she loves the apt and surroundings. There are a few barkers, but its usually short lived. One complaint i have is that people here tend not to pick up after their dogs, but I have noticed thats something thats pretty common around here in general. The complex is working on that and has recently started giving penalities ($5) to ppl who don?t comply. As for the general amenities, the pool area is clean, neat and well maintained. There are lots fo fresh flowers around. the maintenance person is fabulous, prompt and knoweledgeable, as is the property manager. The area is residential, with lots of sidewalks for walking/running. Its pretty and safe, esp compared with dwntn NO. There is also a paved walk by the levy (a 2 min walk from complex) that lots of people run/walk on. Theres a groc store right up the block, and tons of really well rated restaurants nearby. Theres also 2-3 major malls within about 10-15 mins driving.

I have an apt with a courtyard view and would highly recommend it, if you can get one. (one drawback--sometimes you get an echo effect from peole at the pool.) My apt was gorgeous when i moved in: totally new carpet, paint and even new kitchen applicances. The complex itself isnt new, but they do a great job of keeping everything modern and neat looking.

Thats all i can think of; if you are looking for a quiet, pet friendly place, this could be it! its also super close to NO, only about 10 mins by car. (I also take bus in---about 20 mins). If you have any questions, you can write me.
