This building is bad news.
The landlord is very agressive about raising rents every year and provides only a minimal level of upkeep to the units and gardens. More troubling is the owner's habit of entering tenants' units without notice when they are not home. The locks are never changed when old tenants vacate so theft is an ongoing problem.
Any complaints to the owners are answered with attitude and ultimately they evict just about everybody.
The apartments themselves are very old, with ugly cabinets, old plumbing, and cheap appliances. They are very hard to keep warm in the winter. There is no soundproofing in the walls and floors so there's not a lot of privacy.
The place was O.K. when the rents were lower, but the current owner now charges luxury prices for second-rate units.
Look elsewhere for a French Quarter apartment.
