The Esplanade at City Park is one of the best places to live in New Orleans. Mid-City offers the family friendly atmosphere (people walking their dogs, running, taking their kids for a stroll) and keeping the traditional New Orleans feel (large oak-lined streets, Carrollton Street Car, etc). The building is well-kept and management is unbelievably nice and considerate of your needs. Voncelle and Barbara have gone above and beyond their call during and after the hurricane to reopen the building just last week!!! The building is still under rennovations but it will be back to normal soon. The area is safe and within a short distance from the CBD, Quarters, Uptown/Garden District, and Metairie. Definitely a good choice! The only downside I saw (prior to Hurricane Katrina b/c I don't know how it will be now) is there are alot of older people living there and not many people my age (23). This will probably change in the upcoming weeks.
