Don't be fooled!!!

Yes, the apartments at Parc Fontaine are much larger and reasonably priced than anywhere in the city. There is a security gate with 24hr. gaurd and video monitoring.
But, the spacious apartments come with a price. Ceilings that leak often. Our ceiling leaked so often that we requested they place tile on the floor in place of the stinky carpet. I have a stack of maintence work orders that number somewhere around 30. This all occured within a 12 month period. Someone mentioned the oak lined streets. Well, what about the the damage done to the streets and pavement by the humongous roots' There is no landscaping at all! Dirt, which turns to mud when it rains. There are 4 laundry facilities which means if you don't do your laundry on a weekday when everyone else is working, you may have to wear some dirty clothes( or wash them by hand). To make matters worse, there are 8 washers and dryers in the laundry room closest to me and at any given time half of each would be out of order. If you call the number on the machine or notified managent, nothing happend. there were 2 washers that remained filled with old stagnant water for 2 months !! Maintenance guys were always inside of your apartment (in my case, it was necessary most of the time) although we signed a notice that we didn't want anyone inside the aprtment when we weren't home. I had to complain for management to have my carpet shampooed because maintenance would come in,do their job(poorly), and always leave a mess(i.e. muddy footprints, trash). Now lets get to safety. I mentioned earlier that there is security 24hr a day. You can drive up behind the car a head of you, allow the gate to open and drive right in without stopping to call your host or enter your password into the call box. If you don't believe me, try it. Same goes for the walk-in securtiy gate. as far as access to my car, I felt Ok because both of our doors opened to the parking lot, but there is no way that I would walk the hallways to the 2nd/3rd floors at night.
Management staff was rude and maybe part of that stemmed from ignorance. Whenver asked a question regarding anything(other than the day rent is due), no one has a clue. Don't call to speak to the manager (Angie), she never calls you back until you get to the point of cussing out her staff. Calling Shadowlake management was just as bad. Parking was horrible also. There are more apartments than there are parking spaces. Noise was sometimes a problem. My neigbor had a dog that weighed more than a fifth grade child and the maximum weight limit is stated in the lease to be 35 lbs. There was dog poop everywhere because people didn't clean up after their pets. Take it from me, your safety and sanity are much more important than a few extra sqaure feet!!
