A nice apartment

1) Reasonably priced, spacious apartment with large closets. The carpet and all the kitchen appliances were brand new when we moved in.

2) Maintenance workers were competent when we had problems. We had one water leak, which was taken care of, and had the a/c drainage cleared once. Problems weren't excessive for an older building.

3) The oaks are beautiful and the shade helps keep the a/c bills down. Landscaping is a mixed bag. Some sections are attractive, others are just dirt/mud due to the drainage repairs.

4) Yes, the street is in need of repair, but keep in mind that most streets in the metro area are in poor condition. The problem isn't unique to this complex. New Orleans is below sea level and has an outdated sewage system.

5) Safety has improved since the gates were installed. The parking area is well lit, and we go out after dark with no problems. Can't comment about the hallways.
