Whiners shut up!

This is the best apartment community in New Orleans, bar none. Challenges' You bet-try housing hundreds of people in hundreds of units and keeping everybody happy. People complain about rodents, but as a native New Orleanian, I assure you the rats are NOT a problem at the Saulet;it is right on the Mississippi River people! Ever heard of river rats'! They were MUCH worse where I used to live uptown...in fact one was in my toilet one day which is more of an indication of how endemic the buggers are rather than a flaw with my property. I have not seen any rodents yet but I have spotted numerous bait stations around, so, to say the situation has not been addressed is bull. Plumbing problems' Not in my unit...all the hot water I want and the only thing bubbling up from my toilet is clean water after flushing. The pool is as nice as anything you would find at a resort, and that goes for the exercise room and spa. Parking is a dream come true, and even the loudest whiners admit that point. Structural problems' Yep, they exist, but New Orleans is sinking and being consumed by termites , so don't act shocked, just be glad it is an apartment and not your freakin' house! It isn't like reinforcement bars on balconies ruin your life.

Is it worht the rent' It is to me...clean, quiet, no thugs, generally friendly people, the best amenities in New Orleans and all located minutes from my work in a rapidly redeveloping historic neighborhood. If you have the money to spend on the rent, this is a great community. If you are on a tight budget it may not be as attractive an option, but when you figure out what you get in your rent, it is probably the best value in rental living in the city that does not have the luxury of land (nor paying tenants)to develop modern megaplexes like Dallas and Atlanta.
