I will be moving into the Saulet in a little over a month and have visited several times before just to make sure it is what I wanted. I am a graduate student downtown and I have lived down the street the past year in the warehouse district and have to say my initial drawbacks (prior to actually visiting) were the location and safety. I was suprised when I crime-mapped (on NOPD website) the area, my current area (which is an expensive part of the warehouse district) has way more crime and the area around the Saulet has barely any. With safety and security not an issue (the entire Saulet is totally gated and safety was definitely one of my top priorities when looking for an apartment in NO)you just CANNOT beat the amenities at the place. The gym is awesome and so is the pool and new coffee shop, among other things. Furthermore, they are really trying to fill the place now and can offer some good deals (free parking,1/2 off first month rent [might be over now], etc). Overall, this place has definitely got a bad rap from some of these previous reviews and the staff is so nice and helpfull. If you are up in the air or heard bad things about the Saulet, I highly recommend checking it out for yourself and making your own opinions. Plus, everything is new! Can't beat that. Very much looking forward to moving in soon.

Dude, I live here now and the security is not what they make it out to be. All of the gates are constantly either broken or open or both. The courtesy patrol is unresponsive at best. Most of the calls I have placed have gone unanswered and when they do answer there are few things they can do.
